Organization of the Community

As Emilie Gamelin responded to the needs of her time, all of these works were carried out within and radiated from each house. As new houses sprang up, several of the same works developed and were housed together. The same was true as the Sisters moved to new areas and different countries.

 
In the world of the 20th and 21st centuries, the ministries of the Sisters are individual and small group outreach efforts, some institutional work, all done in a variety of ways. There are some sponsored ministries today, and also some Sisters go out to do their ministries in other institutions and with organizations other than our own.

The Sisters of Providence provide support and partnership with ministries
in ways such as providing personnel, being members of boards of directors,
or making financial contributions.
