Holy Angels Province
read moreGeographic areas: Canadian West (Alberta and British Columbia)
Origin of the name: This province has carried the name Holy Angels since the moment of its foundation in 1912 but the origin of the name is not known. The Sacred Scriptures speak often of the angels who accompany and protect persons and communities and who communicate God’s messages to them. There is no doubt that the Sisters of Providence who left Montreal, Quebec, to found missions in the Canadian West were accompanied and had divine protection for the duration of their journey.
