Context
Our Lady of Providence Vice-Province in the Philippines was founded for the mission of ministering among the people and for vocation promotion.
The Sisters of Providence actively serve and participate in the building of Christian Ecclesial Base Communities with the Church of the Philippines.
In keeping with this vision, Sister Julie Macasieb has been engaged in Campus Ministry in diverse educational institutions across the Manila Metropolitan Area, from 1998 to this day:
- from 1998 to 2001 at Holy Trinity Academy, on the invitation of the school’s Principal - from 2002 to 2005 at Saint-Jude’s Catholic School (serving both the Filipino and Chinese communities), on the invitation of a priest of the Society of the Divine Word - and, from 2006 to this day, on the invitation of Manila Archdiocese’s Director of Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry is a service offered by the Manila Archdiocese to university students. Sister Julie is part of the Archdiocese campus ministry core group, along with a Missionary Sister of the Immaculate-Conception and a lay minister. She allocates her time and resources among three universities in Manila, which she visits each week:
- Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila)
- Mapua Institute of Technology
- Lyceum of the Philippines University
She is available to the students for counselling, facilitates retreats and recollection days, prepares liturgical celebrations, is involved with faith sharing groups. These ‘circles of faith’, enable the students to deepen their relationships with each other and with God. She also helps with the formation of lay campus ministers who will be able to carry out the pastoral work among the student body.
Besides her work in Campus ministry, Sister Julie is Temporary Vow Director and member of the formation team in Our Lady of Providence Vice-Province.
